The Parish Assembly of Portimão, last April 15th, unanimously approved the motions presented by the PS, PSD, BE and PCP repudiating the implementation of paid parking system, at the Barlavento Hospital Center.

The motion presented by the Socialist Party considers that the proposal presented by the Board of Directors of the Centro Hospitalar do Barlavento Algarvio corresponds to a “moderating surcharge” for its users.

The Motion of the PSD considers that a Hospital unit whose primary mission is the provision of health care should not encourage income at the expense of users and employees.

In its Motion, the Left Block expressed its most heartfelt repudiation of the abusive action and disrespect for the lives of users, such as the employees of Hospital do Barlavento.

Finally, the PCP Motion considers that the decision of the Board of Directors to temporarily suspend this measure prefigures an intention not to solve the real problem, but rather to ensure that this exploration is carried out in the most effective way possible.
