Hope sprouts again this Saturday, the 23rd, in Serra do Caldeirão, with the distribution of over 900 trees for reforestation and with the inauguration of the Parises Community Garden, two moments that strengthen bonds of solidarity and create new expectations for the future for the burnt areas of the São Brasense territory.

After the appeal of the LARA Plan – Post Fire Social Intervention in São Brás de Alportel -  made to companies and entities in the region to raise trees, the São Brás de Alportel mountain range has already received more than 5.500 trees, a contribution from the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests, the Carbon Neutral Initiative, Complanta, the Al Gharb Clinical Center and Associação In Loco and is now preparing to celebrate spring with the offer of over 900 trees, the result of the solidarity of Portucel and Four Seasons.

Alongside this new donation, the rural life and traditions of the Serra do Caldeirão take on new roots in the Parises Community Garden, a new space dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of horticultural production.

The launch of the municipality's 2nd community garden will take place on Saturday, the 23rd, between 9:30 am and 17:00 pm, on a day open to the entire community and to the young people of Residência na Aldeia dedicated to the planting of herbs and vegetables and to learning retention techniques and use of water for vegetable gardens.

This is an awareness-raising action included in the LARA Plan, promoted by Terramada, with the support of Associação In Loco.

These initiatives aim to respond to the needs of the population affected by the fire last July, a long and slow journey, but one that walks in solidarity steps towards a more promising future.
