The LPN – League for Nature Protection has applied for the project “Give a new home to Lesser Kestrel” to the initiative promoted by the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) for projects with nature conservation actions from all over the globe.

After the initial selection sieve, the best projects are put to vote, for the public to choose the one they consider to be the best in each category (Nature, Outdoor and Mountain).

The project “Give a new home to the Lesser Kestrel” is the first Portuguese initiative to be present in this selection of projects that manages to reach the stage of public voting.

«Reaching this new selection phase is already a demonstration of the relevance of this proposal», stresses LPN, having been one of the six projects selected in the Nature category (“Nature Projects”).

From the 22nd of March until the 12th of April the voting phase takes place. "Now it's very important to get as much support as possible from the public, garnering as many votes as possible."

The process is very simple and the support achieved can be fundamental to get support for this Portuguese project!

It only takes a minute to vote:

1. Enter the link http://www.outdoorconservation.eu/project-voting-category.cfm?catid=3;

2. Click on the “Vote now” button next to the project description “Give Lesser Kestrel a new home, Portugal” (it is the third project on this list);

3. Click on the terms and conditions acceptance button (at the bottom of the page);

4. Click the “Cast your vote” button (at the bottom of the page) and you're done!

It will only be possible to vote on a single project per category and the voting period for the “Nature” category ends on April 12, at noon. Voting results will be announced online after the voting period ends.

LPN thanks «the support in the project “Give a new home to Lesser Kestrel”! Vote for this Portuguese project and share it with your contacts!»

The conservation of steppe birds is one of the priorities of LPN – League for the Protection of Nature. Lesser Kestrel or Kestrel (Falco naumanni) is one of the most outstanding species of this group of birds, due to its threat status. The project has been developed in particular at the Vale Gonçalinho Environmental Education Center, in Castro Verde, owned by LPN.
