On International Women's Day, March 8, the municipality of São Brás de Alportel challenges women of all ages to unravel “The words of the agent's soul – build the history of remembrance”, an adventure through memories, stories that make history and build the women of yesterday, today and forever.
This session, supervised by André Sousa, intends to address several themes: the role of Women, love, dreams, projects; writing as a form of expression of our days and also music and the travels of the imagination, reserving for the end a moment of social gatherings and sharing of stories and experiences about the feminine universe.
André Sousa is the author of the blog bitsofimparatiblogspot.com, winner of 2nd place in the annual vote for best blog in generalist category and outstanding defender of feelings and words “We live in the midst of hectic days, constant worries, arrivals and departures, what about us? Where is the feeling that resides inside our chest? In words, we find a world in which we can write our own destinies, our adventures and misadventures, forming one more story, the story of our lives.”
Free participation, the session “The words of the agent's soul – building a history of remembrance”, invites you to share bits of stories, of lives that come to life through words. As part of the European Year of Citizens, this initiative by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel highlights the importance of raising awareness of Equal Opportunities, with regard to Gender Equality, a current and pertinent theme.
The commemorations of Women's Day mark a meeting on Women's Day in the Serra, a convivial dinner open to the participation of grandmothers, mothers and daughters, to take place at the Headquarters of Futebol Clube da Cabeça do Velho, at 19:30 pm. Also on the 8th, the Evangelical Church Assembly of God “Transcultural” promotes the distribution of roses and messages through the streets of São Brás de Alportel to mark this special day. The celebrations continue on Saturday 9th, at 19pm, with a convivial tea at 00pm, and on Sunday 19th, in a beautiful tribute to Women's Day, with entertainment at the headquarters of the Evangelical Church.
Health and beauty establishments in São Brás de Alportel are once again part of the Miminhos para Elas Campaign, a set of promotions and discounts specially designed with women in mind. Some of the promotions are valid on the 8th, International Women's Day, while others extend until the end of this March, Women's Month.
