Giving priority to Social Action, since «a society that values itself must have human solidarity as one of its first values», is the main banner of PS candidate for the Chamber of Loulé Vítor Aleixo.

PS/Loulé launched a cycle of conferences on this theme, the first of which took place last Saturday.

The debate took place shortly after the candidate and former mayor of the municipality carried out a «Solidarity Guide», which took him to several Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS) in the municipality.

After becoming acquainted with "the day-to-day and the conditions and lack of solutions to the dramatic problems facing social institutions", Vítor Aleixo's candidacy brought together several personalities, including the candidate, in the room of the Municipal Assembly of Loulé.

An occasion that the socialist candidate for Loulé took advantage of to praise the work of the IPSS in the municipality and to guarantee that "among the various policies that are the responsibility of the Loulé municipality, those of Social Action will constitute the priority axis of its executive action", according to a press release from Vítor Aleixo's candidacy.

The vice-president of the Chamber of Elvas Nuno Mocinha, representative of a municipality that Vítor Aleixo considered exemplary in the field of Social Action, also participated in the conference.

«The example given by the municipality of Elvas has to be a work reference not only for the municipality of Loulé, but also a model to be followed by other municipalities in the country, as it opens up a series of clues and a set of work hypotheses that have already been validated given the problems of the present that will worsen in the future», considered the PS candidate to Loulé.

Nuno Mocinha explained, for his part, what measures have been taken in the Alentejo municipality to face the serious social situation facing the country.

In Elvas, more than 10 percent of the budget effort is directed towards this area, which «in practice translates into support for the elderly population in the purchase of pharmaceutical medication, provision of meals and food to the neediest families, paid occupation of free time in the the municipality's youth population, among many others».

At the table, as a guest, in addition to Vítor Aleixo and Nuno Mocinha, was the president of ASCA – Almancil Hermes Alberto Social and Cultural Association.
