The Diocese of Algarve will mark the World Day of the Sick, on Monday, February 11th, with several actions that will take place at the Hospital de Faro.

Thus, at 15:00 pm, the exhibition “Meeting in Good and Beauty” will be inaugurated, an exhibition whose main theme will be the fourteen Mercies of God, from the perspective of various religions and which is organized by the Religious Spiritual Assistance Service (SAER) of the hospital of Faro, with the support of the National Commission of Hospital Chaplaincies and the Religions and Health Working Group.

At 16 pm, a Eucharist will be celebrated presided over by the Vicar General of the Diocese Padre Firmino Ferro, on behalf of D. Manuel Neto Quintas, Bishop of the Algarve.

The program ends, at 17 pm, with a visit to the new Emergency Room-Clinical Decision Area, which went into operation on January 00th.

World Day of the Sick has been celebrated since 1992, at the initiative of Pope John Paul II, who, in a letter written to Christians on that date, recalled that this anniversary represents "a powerful moment of prayer, sharing, offering suffering for good of the Church and of an appeal addressed to all to recognize in the face of the sick brother the Holy Face of Christ who, suffering, dying and rising, wrought the salvation of humanity».
