Two firefighters from the Municipal Sappers Corps of Faro are on the island of Príncipe to provide training, for a period of two weeks, from the 5th to the 19th of February.

This training is part of the existing twinning protocol between Faro and the Autonomous Region of Príncipe, in the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, signed on November 19, 2008.

The objective of this training in that African region is to consolidate the internship project started during 2012 in the Civil Protection and Fire Service of Faro, who provided technical and operational training to four firefighters on the island of Príncipe.

It is the intention of the Regional Government to strengthen the technical qualities and capacities of its professionals in the area of ​​civil protection and recognizing the merit and excellence of the training provided in Faro, it was decided to carry out this joint initiative, which reveals an innovative character.

The initiative will allow not only to strengthen organizational and interpersonal relationships, but also to provide training to a greater number of elements of the island's corporation, in areas as varied as electricity, hydraulics, rescue, relief and extrication, among other procedures associated with the profession.
