The fifth episode of the second series of the series of debates Teia d'Ideias will take place this Wednesday, February 13th, and will address the theme “Removed Buildings – What to do?”, in a gathering promoted by Associação Teia D'Impulsos e scheduled for Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, from 21 pm.

At a time when the construction sector is practically stagnant and the supply of newly built properties is much greater than the demand, it is inevitable to think that the so-called "vacant buildings" will not have a better future than deterioration, clandestine use, the fire or the downfall.

But is this really the only possible destination for so many city streets, so many architectural testimonies of our history, so many spaces that have been present in the development of our people's social, cultural, economic and political life?

Based on these assumptions, the participants in the gathering are challenged to devise action strategies on the growing number of unoccupied and degraded buildings that make up the urban landscape.

To address the issue of vacant buildings, the panel will be attended by Vítor Lourenço (Order of Architects – Algarve Delegation), Lucinda Caetano (Portimão Urban Regeneration Team), Ricardo Pina (architect) José Paulo (STAP – rehabilitation of buildings ) and Francisco Florêncio (lawyer – urban law), while Teia D'Impulsos will be represented by Luís Matos, in a panel moderated by Nuno Silva.

The debate, promoted by Teia D'Impulsos - social, cultural and sports association, in partnership with the Municipality of Portimão and Rádio Costa D'Oiro, has Delta's support for the coffee-break and is open to all interested parties. , being recorded in audio format for later transmission in deferred by Rádio Costa D'Oiro, through the program “Impulso”.

In between the get-togethers, those interested may purchase the book “Teia D'Ideias: Espaço de Cidadania”, which brings together the main conclusions of the first series of this cycle of debates.

The sixth episode of the second edition of Teia d'Ideias is scheduled for March 13, under the theme "Regional Press - Freedom, Sustainability and Plurality", and additional information on this and other initiatives of the Teia D'Impulsos Association may be requested in www.teiadimpulsos.pt or through the e-mail [email protected].
