Loulé celebrates its 1th anniversary as a city on Friday, February 25st. The day will be full of initiatives, many of them in the area of social action and there will be no shortage of music, in this case Fado, to celebrate the Silver Wedding in the Algarve city.
The program starts at 10 am, with the inauguration of the restored Rua Dr. José Guerreiro, which connects the Bus Terminal to the Salir roundabout. Half an hour later, the Municipal House of Temporary Shelter will be inaugurated in the Municipal District.
At 11:30 am, a protocol between the Loulé municipality and the University of the Algarve will be signed in the Salão Nobre da Câmara de Loulé, the objective of which is «the dissemination and enhancement of regional history in its various components», according to the municipality. At midday, in the same place, the Social Portal will be presented.
The celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the City of Loulé continue at night, at the Cineteatro Louletano, with the initiative «Fado à Conversa». In the Friday session António Pinto Basto will invite José Gonçalez to take the stage, for a concert that starts at 21 pm.
