The president of Vila do Bispo City Council signed, on January 19th, two protocols, one aiming at the transfer of a municipal space to the Sagres Parish Council, located in Bairro da Liberdade, and another one for cooperation with the Foundation Sousa Cintra.
In the Bairro da Liberdade space, in Sagres, given free of charge to the Parish Council, a Physiotherapy Center will function, which will also include a nursing room and a speech therapy room.
This measure aims to fill gaps in health in that parish and thus facilitate access to this type of services for the economically disadvantaged population. These services are also intended for Sports Associations and Collectivities in the municipality.
According to the protocol, the Parish Council is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and operating costs of the facilities, namely those related to the consumption of electricity, water, gas and telecommunications, as well as the cleaning and purchase of security equipment.
As for the cooperation protocol with the Sousa Cintra Foundation, this is based on a generic agreement on a wide range of possible cooperation matters, actions and activities, within the Foundation's purposes.
According to the signed document, the Sousa Cintra Foundation pursues, among other purposes, social, cultural, educational, artistic and scientific development, having as its predominant area of activity hunting, science and the economy of the sea. Its area of expertise focuses mainly on the district of Faro, in particular the municipality of Vila do Bispo.
Supporting the development of projects that can support the development of Sagres and its affirmation in the field of the environment, sciences related to health, science and economics of the sea, as well as in the health and leisure tourism sectors, are other areas of activity of this Foundation.
