Hungarian director Bela Tárr, multifaceted artist Chris Marker and Portuguese cinema will be featured in the Cineclube de Faro for January and February.

Despite the «Herculean challenges in the face of the current circumstances, which are already particularly difficult», the director of the Cineclube begins the year to renew the commitment to do everything in its power to «that the magic and dream of Cinema become one of the constants with which the city ​​of Faro, and the members and friends of the CCF can count during this difficult year».

In January, at the headquarters of the Cineclube de Faro, all Thursday sessions are dedicated to the Hungarian filmmaker. The cycle «The World Begins and Ends in Bela Tárr» starts on January 17th and continues until February 7th, always at 21 pm and with free entry.

Next Thursday, the film «Dannation» will be presented. On January 25th it will be the turn of the work «The Tango of Satan» (considered “the best film of all time” in the recent Sight & Sound poll), followed by the 31st of «The Harmonies of Werckmeister». On February 7th, "The Man from London" will be shown.

From February 14th, the free sessions at the headquarters are dedicated to the filmmaker, poet, writer, photographer, editor, designer, videographer, among others, Chris Marker, in the cycle «Chris Marker: Total Artist».

On Valentine's Day, the film to be shown is «Sem Sol», followed on February 21 by the work «Level 5». The cycle ends on the 28th with the film “O Pontão”.

In addition to the sessions at headquarters, the Cineclube de Faro will continue to bring the cinema to the room of the delegation of Faro of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth. Sessions at the IPDJ take place on Tuesdays at 21 pm.

The sessions, in this case, are paid and in January Portuguese filmmakers are in the majority. Next Tuesday, the cycle “O Mundo Não Acaba Aqui” is launched, with the screening of the film “Operação Autumn”, by Bruno de Almeida. In addition to the evening session, in this case there will be a session for schools at 15:30 pm.

On February 22, the work «César must Morrer» by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani will be shown, while on the 29th the suggestion of the Cineclube de Faro is the film “Deste Lado da Ressureição”, by Joaquim Sapinho.

Paid sessions cost 2 euros for Cineclube de Faro, 3,5 euros for students and 4 euros for the general public.

"In addition to our commitment and determination, the CCF also needs the support and contribution of our partners, friends and the city, whether through their invaluable presence and participation, whether with their ideas or projects", warns the direction of Film club.
