A cooperation protocol between the University of the Algarve, the Regional Directorate of Education of the Algarve and the teacher training centers of the Algarve school associations was signed yesterday, the 12th, in Faro, as part of the activities commemorating the 33rd anniversary of UAlg.
This protocol is intended to develop the cooperation established in the areas of interest to the partners, with regard to collaboration in the promotion and implementation of specific continuous and specialized training actions for the training of teachers and non-teachers in schools/groups, and senior technicians and technical assistants from DREAlg.
In addition to the credits required for the respective performance evaluation in their careers, graduates of these courses may also have their training credited in ECTS (university training credits) if they subsequently enroll in courses (degree lecturers or not) at the University of Algarve.
The rector of the University of Algarve stressed the importance of cooperation with primary and secondary education and the close collaboration that exists with the Regional Directorate of Education and with schools and groups, highlighting Year Zero as a success case and recalling activities such as UAlg team, collaboration in the external evaluation of schools and the intervention of UAlg teachers in the monitoring process of the TEIP (educational territories of priority intervention).
The same spirit of collaboration was underlined by the Regional Director for Education, who highlighted the need to deepen the ongoing work related to the articulation between all levels of education.
The protocol was signed, in addition to the dean and the regional director for Education, by the directors of the six training centers in the Algarve: Training Center of the Association of Schools in the Municipalities of Albufeira, Lagoa and Silves; Training Center of the Association of Schools of the Municipalities of Portimão and Monchique; Ria Formosa School Association Training Center; Training Center of the Litoral à Serra Association of Schools; Training Center of the Association of Algarvian Schools Association; Dr. Rui Grácio Training Center.
