Teia D'Impulsos – Social, Cultural and Sports Association joins the commemorations of the 88th anniversary of Portimão's elevation to the category of city and promotes various activities of active citizenship, with the aim of stimulating the spirit of debate and reflection in the community local.

The group of initiatives includes the presentation of the book “Teia D'Ideias: Espaço de Cidadania”, which brings together the main conclusions drawn from the first series of debates with the same name, serving as testimony to the ideas that were widely discussed and thus gain a new breadth.

The work is scheduled to be launched at 19 pm on December 00 and will take place at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, a space that hosted all the Teia D'Ideias debates, followed by a tribute to Father Arsénio Castro da Silva, one of the 10 guests who contributed to this cycle and to whom the 58st edition of the book will be dedicated.

The program also includes a conference on the theme “Active Citizenship – The importance of Social Intervention in our times”, in which the mayor of Portimão Manuel da Luz will speak. The activities of this day will end with a party at Absolutely – Cocktail Lounge Bar, in Praia da Rocha, scheduled for 22:00.

December 12th is the date set for another gathering of the Teia D'Ideias cycle, which will begin at 21 pm at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes and in which the theme “Associativism and the City – Together or with their backs turned?” will be addressed.

Just as it is transversal to the whole of Portuguese society, due to the current turbulent times of economic and social crisis, associativism today also faces new difficulties and new challenges, which must be seen as opportunities to respond to a community in the midst of a crisis of values.

More than what local authorities can do for associations, Teia D'Impulsos challenges guests to reflect on what the associative movement can do for the city of Portimão, contributing to its social, cultural and economic growth.

The gathering will feature the following panel of guests: Ana Figueiredo, president of the Parish Council of Portimão; António Filipe Parra Martins, representative of the Portuguese Confederation of Culture, Recreation and Sport Collectivities; Armando Santana (Clube União Portimonense), João Bota (TYPE – Children's Theater of Portimão), Nuno Monteiro (Portisub – Underwater Club of Portimão), Francisco Guerreiro (Association Barman Barlavento Arade), Nilza Fonseca (Association Santomense and Friends in the Algarve), Celeste Vilarinho (Flor Amiga Association) and Ivo Carvalho (Alvorecer Association), with the representation of Teia D'Impulsos being in charge of Nuno Bernardino Vieira, in a debate moderated by Nuno Silva.

The meeting, promoted by Teia D'Impulsos in partnership with the Municipality of Portimão and Rádio Costa D'Oiro, also has the support of Pastelaria do Arade and Delta in the realization of the coffee-break, is open to all interested parties. and will be recorded in audio format, for later transmission by Rádio Costa D'Oiro through the program “Impulso”.

The next debate of this cycle is scheduled for January 9th and will be under the theme “Juvenile delinquency – integration in society”, with more information about this and other initiatives of the Teia D'Impulsos Association being available in www.teiadimpulsos.pt or through the e-mail [email protected].
