Sporting won this Saturday a selection of players from Algarve teams by 3-1, in a solidarity game held in Faro whose revenues revert to the recovery of sports infrastructure destroyed in Silves by the tornado that struck that municipality and Lagoa on 16 November.

A game in which the Algarve team even started to win, after a goal by Fernandez, Olhanense player who this afternoon wore the Algarve Football Association outfit. By the way, the goal had a double mark from the emblem of Olhão, with the already retired Djalmir heading for Fernandez's shot.

This is only a few minutes after entering the match, which shows that a few months after having fixed his professional boots, the scorer still has the gift of influencing the game.

Sporting didn't lose anything with the defeat, as the most important thing was the solidary vein of the game, but there was something to gain, even if it was moral and the spirit of the many Leo fans who attended the São Luís Stadium.

Perhaps for this reason, he entered visibly determined to score in the second half and did not take long to turn the game around. In fact, the turnaround was achieved in two minutes and the final result in less than ten.

The lions' goals were scored by André Martins in the 54th minute, Labyad in the 55th minute and Viola in the 59th minute of play. The combative Algarvian team, which made a good first half, ended up paying for a less flashy moment and retraction in the game.

Until the end of the game, due to the many substitutions made by both teams, the game became tepid, perhaps influenced by the cold that the night intensified.

In the end, the atmosphere was one of celebration, with a sea of children and young people invading the field to ask for autographs from the players. Already at half-time there had been some children trying to get a souvenir of the game from their idols.

Sporting players were, of course, the most sought after, but the president of the Club was also in great demand.

The game was attended by about 4 people, far less than the tickets that were sold. Something that will be linked to the fact that six thousand of the tickets available were purchased in advance by the Continente commercial chain. A further 1500 tickets were sold at the box office, which increased the total number of tickets sold to 7500 and revenue to 37.500 euros.
