Rodrigo Moita de Deus, author of the controversial videos “What the Finns don't know about Portugal” and “Ich bin ein Berliner”, is one of the speakers at the conference “(a)mar (a) city, scheduled for December 10th and which will take place in the auditorium of the Museum of Portimão, from 15 pm, as part of the program dedicated to young people and integrated in the commemoration of the city's 00th anniversary.

The opening of the conference will be in charge of Manuel da Luz, mayor of Portimão, as well as lecturers Nuno Sá, photographer and specialist in marine wildlife, writer, illustrator, musician and animation film director Afonso Cruz, and Rodrigo Moita God's.

Taking as a starting point the relationship of the river, sea and river with people and the land, the objective of this meeting is to embrace different perspectives that inspire citizens to look at their city and the practice of citizenship in a more comprehensive way, which enshrines rights and duties.

But the program designed for and by young people starts this Saturday, December 8th, when, in an exercise of active citizenship aimed at young people, the Portimão Chamber promotes the Extraordinary Assembly Under 18, which will take place from 16:00 pm in the small auditorium of the TIME.

On the occasion, delegates from the EB 2,3 Schools and Secondary Schools of the municipality will elect the three best works related to the contest “Portimão: Return to the Future”, a creative challenge addressed to students from 9th to 12th grade in the municipality, who were invited to translate, through writing, projection on a model or drawing/painting, their ideas about the future of the city that they are available to build, but also of the sea and river that embrace it.

The authors of the selected works will be part of the panel of speakers at the conference “(a)mar (a)cidade, scheduled for December 10, in the auditorium of the Museum of Portimão.
