Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts delivered yesterday, at the Porto Bay Falésia hotel, a total donation of 9.132 euros, divided by two social solidarity institutions in the Algarve.
The amount collected results from the Porto Bay HOPE- Small Gestures, Big Hopes campaign. The beneficiary institutions are AHSA (Albufeira Humanitarian Solidarity Association) and APEXA (Algarve's Association for the Exceptional Person).
The “HOPE – Small Gestures, Big Hopes” campaign, launched in August of this year, in all the Porto Bay group hotels in Portugal – Madeira and Algarve – totals 22.688 euros.
After an initial deposit of €10.000 from the Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts group, guests were invited to join with a contribution of €1 per stay or more.
This campaign continues until August of next year and covers four institutions – the two mentioned above in the Algarve and, in turn, on the island of Madeira, the beneficiary institutions are the Madeira Cerebral Palsy Association and the Portuguese League Against Cancer (Delegation of Madeira). The first checks will soon be delivered to institutions in Madeira.
“In difficult times like those we are going through in Portugal, the sum of many small donations can make a greater contribution to these causes. With small gestures we make all the difference”, said António Trindade, CEO of the Porto Bay group.
In this way, the Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts group makes a contribution in supporting institutions in the regions where it is present.
