The Parliamentary Group of the PCP will pose a set of questions to the Government in order to guarantee that aid to the victims of the tornado that hit Lagoa and Silves last month "will reach its recipients quickly and will be adequate to the needs".

Doubts that arose after a visit to the places affected by the bad weather by a delegation from the Municipal Committees of Silves and Lagoa of PCP, including the deputy elected by the Algarve Paulo Sá and mayors of the CDU.

In addition to passing through the places most affected by the tornado, the communist delegation met with municipal executives from the two municipalities and with local firefighters.

"The PCP will continue to monitor this situation and will do everything in its power so that public support for victims of bad weather and the reconstruction of infrastructures are made available as soon as possible", guaranteed the parliamentary group of this party.

The communists also recalled that, on the day of the storm, they had already made “a proposal to add to the State Budget for 2013, aiming at authorizing the transfer of a sum of two million euros to cover the damages and losses caused by the weather. which, unfortunately, was defeated by the parliamentary majority».
