Orquestra do Algarve will give Christmas concerts in Quarteira, Lagoa and São Brás de Alportel, presenting a repertoire from sacred to Christmas and with some surprises.
On the 16th, at the Church of São Pedro do Mar in Quarteira, at 16:00 pm, on the 22nd, at the Municipal Auditorium in Lagoa, at 21:30 pm, and on the 23rd, at the Cine-Teatro de São Brás de Alportel, the music will bring the joy of the festive season by the baton of conductor John Avery.
Hector Berlioz's "Farewell of the Shepherds", the "Dance of Acrobats", taken from the opera "The Snow Maiden" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, the "Arioso" from a Bach Christmas cantata, "Bethlehem Down" by the Anglo composer - Welsh Peter Warlock, Émile Waldteufel's “The Skating Waltz”, or even a different presentation of the famous “The Nutcracker” suite by Tchaikovsky, among many others, are some of the works that star in this program, in which they do not go missing the sounds of bells and sleds.
The concert at the Church of São Pedro do Mar, in Quarteira, is free, courtesy of the Municipality of Loulé. The concerts in Lagoa and São Brás de Alportel are paid admission, tickets costing €7,50 each.
There will be a special promotion for the purchase of a set of 6 tickets, in which a double CD “Obras de WA Mozart” will be offered, an offer by Orquestra do Algarve, which is the same of its authorship.
These concerts have the support of the Municipal Councils of Lagoa and São Brás de Alportel, respectively.
