Nine projects were the winners of the first Participatory Budget process in Portimão.
They are the construction of a walkway on Av. Gil Vicente, on Estrada da Bemposta between Forportil and the water tank, the construction of a pedestrian walkway between Mexilhoeira Grande and Figueira, the implementation of a wireless data network throughout the municipality. , the creation of an entrepreneurship program for Basic and Secondary Education, the implementation of the project “Let's put an end to food waste”, the construction of a street connecting the Horta da Raminha subdivision to the Recheio commercial surface, the construction of a rain collector in the streets of Sitio da Dourada, the creation of a roof for the playground of Alameda da República and shading of the surrounding spaces and the implementation of a climbing wall at Casa das Artes.
The disclosure of the nine proposals to be implemented over the next year, which took place at a public ceremony held as part of the City Day, was the culmination of the Participatory Budget process in Portimão for 2013, the first ever promoted in Portimão, which invited residents of the municipality to share ideas and projects they would like to see realized in their land of affection.
The 27 proposals that were voted on in the last stage of the process received a total of 694 votes, and the projects to be implemented next year have a global amount of 981.216,22 euros, to be included in the Budget and Activities Plan of the City Council of Portimão for 2013.
During the official ceremony held on the 11th, the list of the most voted proposals was revealed and its proponents were given a diploma in recognition of their commitment to this manifestation of active citizenship.
Covering the three parishes of the municipality, the following projects will be carried out:
>>>walk construction on Av. Gil Vicente, on Estrada da Bemposta between Forportil and the water tank (authored by Tiago Conceição – amount of 103 euros);
>>>building a pedestrian walkway between Mexilhoeira Grande and Figueira (Jorge Caetano – 194 149,50 euros);
>>>implementation of a data network wireless throughout the county (Rui Mesquita – 14 euros);
>>>creating a program in the area of entrepreneurship for Basic and Secondary Education (Isabel Oliveira – 60 euros);
>>>project implementation “Let's put an end to food waste” (Youth People of Portimão – €5);
>>>construction of a street the connection of the Horta da Raminha subdivision to the Recheio commercial area (Nuno Bemposta – 163 euros);
>>>construction of rain collector in the street of Sitio da Dourada (Bruno Marreiro – 104 914,30 euros);
>>>cover creation for the playground of Alameda da República and shading of the surrounding spaces (Ana Conceição, Amílcar Bentes and Conceição dos Santos – 199 760,00 euros);
>>>implementation of a climbing wall at Casa das Artes (Carlos Freire and Nuno Sacramento – €135).
