After the period of applications for the attribution of Scholarships to Higher Education by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, until November 30, 2012, the jury proceeded to the selection of two young São Brasenses who will benefit from this support during the year. academic year 2012/2013.

The current context of crisis that the country is going through accentuates the socio-economic inequalities of society, making it difficult for many families to meet the daily expenses, including the investment in the future of their children in attending higher education.

Aware of these constraints, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel intends, through this attribution of scholarships, to «value and motivate students, residing in the area of ​​the municipality, giving special attention to young people from family environments with low economic resources, but with good performance and academic merit».

In this context, in the academic year of 2012/2013, the young women from São Paulo selected to benefit from this incentive to higher studies were: Adriana da Cunha Fernandes, attending a degree in Audiology, at the Porto School of Health Technology, and Marília Guerreiro, attending an integrated master's degree in medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon.

This financial support for attending higher education, granted by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, continues the social policies defended by the municipality, a continuous work developed in multiple aspects in favor of the future of São Brasense youth.
