Teatro Circo, humor with the Solrir Festival, Freestyle Motocross, fireworks and the Miradouro Dance Spot party are the proposals of the “Viva Portimão” program that the Municipality has prepared for the end of the year.

Between December 21st and January 5th, there will be proposals for all tastes, including the circus theater with figures from the Disney universe, crazy acrobatics with flying motorcycles, New Year's Eve with the best music and a full 2013 entry of humor and good mood.

From December 21st to January 1st, Portimão's Fair and Exhibition Park will host the Teatro Circo – Cardinali, which proposes a show for children with magic and many characters, from clowns to jugglers, passing by Hula Hoop, tightrope walkers and immortal characters such as Mickey and Minnie, Dora the Explorer, Spongebob, Phineas & Ferb, Monster High, Vila Moleza and the Pirates of the Caribbean, plus many, many more surprises.

In this true show for the whole family, children up to 2 years old have free entry, while the ticket for children aged 3 to 12 costs 9 euros and for adults it will be 11 euros.

There will be daily sessions at 16:30 pm, and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the public will also be able to attend the session at 21:30 pm. Note that on December 24th there will only be a matinee at 16:30 pm, while on December 25th and January 1st there will be sessions at 16:00 pm, 18:00 pm and 21:30 pm. For December 29, the proposal is the Freestyle Motocross Show Marcos César, which brings together the best international riders riding on two wheels, with impossible drifts, drift, flying motorcycles, incredible jumps and much more.

Two motorbikes, five cars and a replica of Faísca for the younger ones can be seen live at Portimão Arena, from 21 pm, with tickets for 30 euros from 20 years of age and 13 euros for children aged 10 to 4 , with 12% discounts for holders of the Municipal Youth Card, Senior Passport and Person with a Disability, provided they are purchased at the ticket office in Portimão Arena, open from 20:09 am to 00:12 pm and from 30:14 pm to 00:18 pm, and on the day of the show the ticket office will open between 00:11 and 00:21.

Rockets, Party and Solrir

On the night of December 31, the farewell of 2012 will be made with the traditional fireworks, launched from midnight in the Zona Ribeirinha de Portimão and Praia da Rocha, where the Miradouro Dance Spot party starts at 23 pm with Dj Deelight, who will select the best song to welcome 00.

The New Year begins in Portimão with Solrir 2013 – Humor Festival which, from 2 to 5 January, brings together some of the greatest national comedians in Portimão Arena, always from 21 pm.

On the night of January 2, hostilities opened with “Môce dum Cabréste”, a show of music and humor with the Algarve accent of Dário Guerreiro, poet, musician and comedian known mainly for the videos posted on Youtube and which has 11 subscribers and 900 thousand views.

This is followed by the Experimental Theater of Mexilhoeira Grande, with “A Padaria da Dona Albertina”, from the Portuguese-language magazine “É tudo flour do meme saque”, actor Carlos Pacheco with the Revista do Boa Esperança in “Vamos ao Circo” and, finally, Fernando Rocha, in a mega stand up show, anecdotes and surprises, to celebrate 13 years of his career and the launch of the book “The 100 best anecdotes of Fernando Rocha”.

For January 3rd, the proposals are António Machado with “Final Machada”, a hilarious portrait of the daily life of the Portuguese, and Commedia à la Carte, which will present “Avé Commedia full of grace”.

January 4th will bring to Portimão the renowned Eduardo Madeira, Aldo Lima, Nilton and the duo Tá na Manga, consisting of Gonçalo Jorge and Pedro Teixeira, winners of 11 international prizes for illusionism, who present something different with their show “Magia e etc. .”, where irreverence and humor merge with magic.

Solrir 2013 ends on January 5th, with João Seabra, in “The man, the woman and the mirror”, a humorous portrait that explores the differences between males and females, and also “A Curva da Felicidade” , with Vítor Espadinha, Luís Aleluia, João de Carvalho and Luís Mascarenhas, who lead a hilarious comedy to Portimão Arena in which the adventures of four men desperately trying to resist the crisis of age and looking for an apartment to live in are narrated.
