The cycle of conferences «Inovar Algarve» ends this Friday, with a day dedicated to the theme «Repositioning of R&D Units». Throughout the day, experts in different areas will make presentations, with the event closing with the debate «Rethinking and Repositioning R&D Units: Development of Products and Services».

This will be, of the three days that the event lasted, the one that will have the most traditional format of a seminar.

Yesterday, Thursday, the focus was given to the transfer of technology and knowledge, in sessions that brought together well-attended entrepreneurs and researchers.

Meetings that allowed the agents present to understand what each side of the technology transfer process is doing. There was also some debate about business problems and potential solutions that the investigation could provide.

For today, the program includes lectures by personalities such as the director general of COTEC Portugal Daniel Bessa, the president of INESC Porto José Manuel Mendonça, John Edwards, from Platform S3 of the European Union and project leaders from various structures, including centers research activities linked to UAlg.

The final debate will have as guests Daniel Bessa (COTEC Portugal), Francisco Banha (GesBanha and Business Angels Club), Telmo Vilela (National Institute of Industrial Property), Pedro Cabrita Carneiro (Foundation for Science and Technology), José Manuel Mendonça ( INESC-Porto) and Carlos Faro (BIOCANT).

Before closing, the winner of the PN-CCMAR competition will be known.

«Innovate Algarve» continues in January

The cycle of conferences «Inovar Algarve» will be the first of two moments of this project. This cycle will be complemented with an Innovation Fair that CRIA will organize on January 31st and February 1st, 2013.

The general objective of these two complementary initiatives is to highlight the commercial potential of the knowledge produced in the Algarve and place it at the service of the regional and national economy.
