The participation of Olhanense – and the Algarve teams – in the Portuguese Cup has ended. The rubronegra team lost this Sunday against Paços de Ferreira, by 2-1, away from home, in a game in which the Algarve were winning, but allowed the comeback with one less player on the field. The Algarve team controlled the game until Targino was sent off for a childish act.

Olhanense entered the game stronger and scored in the 13th minute by Abdi, after an assist from Yontcha. The team led by Sérgio Conceição managed to defend their advantage until the 78th minute, at a time when they were already playing with one less player on the field. Cicero was the author of the goal of the pacenses.

Just two minutes after tying, Paços de Ferreira completed the turnaround on the scoreboard, again with a goal from Cicero, and stamped the passage to the fifth round of the Portuguese Cup.

A defeat that left the coach of Olhanense furious and shooting in different directions, at the Press Conference that followed the match. Tiago Targino was one of the targets of the coach's anger, but also the referee of the match, for having given 9 yellow cards in the game, 8 of which and one red (for accumulation of yellows) to Olhanense players.

In the case of the second yellow card that earned Targino the red, as Sérgio Conceição insisted after the game, the fault was even with the Olhanense player, who kicked a ball away with the interrupted game, an attitude that rarely goes unpunished. This a few minutes after seeing the first card.
