Filipe Santos, swimmer at O2 – Portimão, is part of the National Team made up of ten swimmers that will depart on Wednesday, November 14, for Loano, in Italy, where he will participate in the DSISO World Championship, which will take place in 17 to 23.

Filipe Santos, two-time European champion, will swim in the following events – 200 Freestyle (November 17th), 50 Mariposa (18), 400 Freestyle (19), 200 Mariposa (21) and 50 Freestyle (22).

The goals in this world championship, according to coach Paulo Sousa, are at two levels. «First, that Filipe can be in the finals of the five races he is going to swim, and second, that he can, for the first time, climb a world podium».

“It would be fantastic to bring a bronze medal to Portimão and that's what we're going to try. The 200 Mariposa are the proof in which Filipe has the best chance of achieving this goal», added Paulo Sousa.

Ana Castro and Carina Moreira (Clube Natação da Maia), Adriana Reis (Feira Viva), Mannie NG (Gesloures), Ricardo Pires (MAPADI), João Gonçalves and João Vaz (Sporting CP), José Vieira and Telmo dias (Individual) and Filipe Santos (O2 – Portimão) are the swimmers in the Portuguese team.

The management and technical team is made up of Alberto Costa (Head of Delegation), Carla Cardoso (Technical Coordinator), Ana Querido, Carlos Mota and Paulo Sousa (Coaches) and Rui Gama (Physiotherapist).
