The Serra de Loulé Fair will take place on December 1st and 8th and in 2012 will have many changes, from the outset in terms of duration, appearance and concept, but also to the place that hosts it. For many years, the event took place at the NERA pavilion, but in 2012 it takes to the streets, more precisely to Avenida José da Costa Mealha.

«About 80 exhibitors of handicrafts and agro-food producers will represent the most genuine of what is done in the Algarve mountains, from basketry, tin, pottery, work in esparto, aromatic herbs, traditional sweets, sausages, among other products. Visitors will be able to watch the work live», revealed in a press release to Câmara de Loulé.

The event organized by the Loulé municipality, «in addition to promoting and enhancing the mountain's cultural wealth» assumes the objective of «introducing visitors to the diversity of popular culture in the parishes of Serra do Caldeirão, through its handicrafts, products, gastronomic specialties , ethnography and traditions'.

In times of crisis, defended the municipality, this is a good place to do some Christmas shopping, as it directly contributes to the local economy. The Fair, which will also have a "new look", will be open on two days (December 1st and 8th) from 10 am to 18 pm and has free entry.
