António Lobo Antunes will be at the Leya bookstore in Pátio, in Faro, on Friday, November 30th, to present his latest work «It's Not Midnight Who Wants». An opportunity to meet the renowned Portuguese writer and have an autographed copy of the novel.

«He has a reputation for having a bad temper, but whoever was in the Patio a year ago knows that Lobo Antunes is an excellent storyteller, has a great sense of humor, and, if necessary, stays into the night, signing autographs out of respect and generosity for its readers», illustrated the Pátio de Letras.

"It's Not Midnight Who Wants To", according to the author, "was written listening to a female voice, who dictated things to him so quickly that he sometimes accompanied her badly, and during the writing he just wanted to be with her, I heard her -there".

Synopsis of «It's Not Midnight Who Wants to»

The book's plot takes place over three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

A woman in her late forties is spending a weekend at her family's vacation home. Modest, the house was sold, and she wants to say goodbye to it, but she also wants to remember everything that happened there – her childhood with her parents and siblings, her older brother's suicide, her deaf-mute brother, the the parents' complex and dramatic relationship, the girl across the street, her friend from vacation time… Then comes her current life, barely married, childless, a teacher in a school like so many others, with a frustrating and unenthusiastic relationship.

The failure that is his life is reflected in that house that has long been uninhabited and in the dreams of all of them, irretrievably buried there.
