The «Cook for a Cause» charity dinner will put an apron on various personalities in the region, to help the Oncological Association of the Algarve (AOA) to build a temporary residence for patients undergoing treatment at the Radiotherapy Unit of Faro. The event will take place at the University of Algarve's (UAlg) Campus of Gambelas, on December 1st, between 19:30 pm and midnight.

The renowned chef Chakkal will be joined in front of the stove by the Rector of the University of Algarve João Guerreiro, the presidents of the Chambers of Faro and Castro Marim, Macário Correia and José Estevens, the Director of the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism (ESGHT) at UAlg Francisco Serra, the professor of this organic unit Helena Nunes and the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the AOA Maria José Nicolau.

Following the same logic, the chakkal chef will also take on a different role, that of DJ, in a program that aims to «enhance Gastronomy in the Arts» and which also features performances by Filipa Sousa and Louie Russo, as well as various manifestations of « music, poetry, painting and creativity». The organization is in charge of a group of students from the Administration Assistance course at ESGHT.

The ticket costs 15 euros per person and will revert to fuel the AOA's dream of building the Casa Flor das Dunas residence.
