The village of Martim Longo is getting ready to host the 6th edition of Feira da Perdiz. The hunting event takes place on October 13th and 14th, at the Pavilhão José Rosa Pereira, and features a program with many new features.
The official opening of the fair is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 am. Before that, two associative activities kick off the fair day – the mountain bike ride “Na Rota da Perdiz”, organized by Inter-Vivos, and a Pigeon Start, organized by the Associative Hunting Zone of Castelhanos and Laborato, both at 09:00 am.
On Sunday the opening of the event is scheduled for 10:00 am. At the same time, a regional tour will take place in the village.
During the two days, the event offers a range of varied activities – archery, a success tournament, the seminar “The Sustainability of Hunting in the Municipality of Alcoutim” (Saturday, at 15:00 pm), falconry demonstrations, a kinotechnic demonstration of Intervention Detachment of Faro, the VI Alcoutim dog competition and lots of street entertainment.
A wide variety of articles related to hunting, hunting dogs exhibition, handicrafts and regional cuisine complete this Partridge Fair, which aims to promote the county as a privileged area of national hunting, namely hunting of red partridge.
The “Micro Safari” exhibition will be on display during the two days of the fair. Biodiversity is the great inspiration for this exhibition, with more than 200 animals, from arachnids to giant snails.
