The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve will host another major sporting event, the Algarve Classic Festival, from the 19th to the 21st of October.

This festival will celebrate the great endurance races of when the mighty prototypes fought for victories. The AIA thus presents several 2-hour races that will put the determination of all the drivers and their machines to the test.

Nine categories will be on track in a total of 14 races: JD Classic Challenge, U2TC, Sirtling Moss Trophy, GT & Sport Car Cup, Pre-War Sport Cars, Formula Junior, 1.000Km, IGD (Iberian Getelmens Drivers) – Portimão Race and the 1300 National Classics Championship.

The 1000km is an Endurance Championship that visits some of the most prestigious circuits in Europe, such as Donington, in the United Kingdom, Dijon, in France, or Monza, in Italy.

Iran is present on the Portimão circuit in cars as varied as the Lola T70, Ferrari 512, Chevron B8 and B16, as well as BMW 2002, Ford Escort MK2, Alfa Romeo GTAM, Porsche 911, Shelby 350, Ferrari Daytona, Ford GT40, the Pantera, Datsun 240Z Series 1, with a special class for pre-8 V1963 touring cars.

This is the fourth year that this great festival takes place, now called the Algarve Classic Festival, the biggest and most important historic car event in Portugal.
