Portimonense is, of the three Algarve teams playing in the Portuguese Cup, the one that seems to have the most difficult task in the third round. The team from Portimão, which fights in the 2nd League, will face, in the opponent's home, Rio Ave, currently ranked 13th in the 1st League, dictated the draw held today at the headquarters of the Portuguese Football Federation, in Lisbon.
Olhanense (1st League) receives the 1st of December, while Farense goes to Reguengos de Monsaraz to face the home team.
The third round of the Portuguese Cup, in which clubs from the Major League are already participating, is scheduled for the weekend of 20 and 21 October.
The draw also dictated that Académica de Coimbra will start defending the title against Ponte da Barca, of the 3rd Division, while Sporting, a defeated finalist, and Moreirense will play, in Moreira de Cónegos, the only game of this tie between I League clubs .
Benfica will visit Freamunde, from the 2nd League, and FC Porto will go to Santa Eulália de Vizela, a team that militates in the 3rd Division.
Another duel with history is the one that will pit Sporting de Braga (1st League) against Leixões, in the 2nd League.
