Dances, traditional musical instruments, fashions and humor from the past and present are the suggestions for another fun Meeting of Traditions, to take place on Saturday, 8th, at Cineteatro São Brás.

Starting at 21:30 pm, the Traditions Meeting, organized by Rancho Típico Sambrasense, with the support of the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, Parish Council and INATEL Foundation, invites you to revive traditions with “Danças dos Velhos; from the “coconut” laughing with Zé's Anecdotes; remembering other times with Filipe Oliveira's Concertina School and Cantares ao Desafio and good musical moments in the company of São-Brasense duo Nuno Martins and Adriana Gonçalves.

O Ethnographic Group of Quelfes “Danças dos Velhos” starts this IV Meeting of Traditions with a very unique dance show, dubbed “comic-dramatic by some critics”. The Old Men's Dance, an old tradition that the Quelfes Ethnographic Group recovered, consisted of a dance performed only by men, many of them disguised as women, which “provoked great hilarity in the spectators (...) and no one could pass without laughing”.

Currently, the group has been in existence for about 3 decades, with many activities throughout the country, having achieved the Gold Medal award from the Municipality of Olhão for its services in favor of the region's culture.

A moment of humor follows with the Joe's Anecdotes, small and hilarious stories preserved through orality that promise to surprise on stage through the interpretation of 2 young people from São Brasenses.

The 3rd group to act is the Filipe Oliveira Concertina School that proposes music and Singing to the Challenge. Officially formed in 2007, this school has about 4 dozen students aged between 7 and 78 years old who are dedicated to the concertina, a traditional instrument with many stories to tell.

The IV Meeting of Traditions ends with the sound of traditional music, performed by the São-Brasense duo Nuno Martins and Adriana Gonçalves. At just 22 years old, Nuno Martins has already had a long career in the musical world, integrating several projects, including the Cante Andarilho Group, Entre Luas, Almost 5, among many other performances in festivals or cultural events. The young Adriana Gonçalves discovered her talent when she was only 10 years old, working at weddings and baptisms. Nowadays and after several years of experience in the music world, Adriana returns to the stage with Nuno Martins, with whom she has developed various types of repertoire suited to different contexts.

In this year's edition, the IV Encounter of Traditions will last 120 minutes of good mood for a symbolic value of 3 Corridinhos.
