The Quinta da Ouriva Nursery has already opened, in an investment of 1 million euros co-financed by the PARES Program, which creates 20 jobs and 84 places for children aged 3 to 36 months.
The crèche, according to the Portimão City Council, is intended to provide “a more effective response to the needs of families, namely in an area of the municipality that lacks such expertise”.
This new facility, located at Quinta da Ouriva (Ladeira do Vau), is a project by the private social solidarity institution Lar da Criança, which has the support of Social Security, with a contribution from the Municipality of 500.000 euros, taking into account the leased land.
As for the Pontal School Center, the news is not good. The Municipality of Portimão says that, «taking into account the difficulties in which the Municipality finds itself, the works have not yet been completed».
