The Film Club of Faro will be very active in the months of September and October, with initiatives spread across several rooms of Faro and a trip to Silves. Until the end of the month, the highlight will be the tribute to the recently deceased Portuguese pianist Bernardo Sassetti. In October, the Lux Festival, at the University of Algarve's Campus das Gambelas, stands out.

The tribute to Bernardo Sassetti, «always small in the face of the greatness of man and work», began yesterday with the screening of the film «O Milagre Segundo Salomé» by Mário Barroso and continues on September 27 with the film «Quaresma» , by José Álvaro Morais, both with music by the «genial pianist, musician and composer». The film will be shown at the Cineclube de Faro

Even before the end of the month, on the 25th, another regular session will take place in the IPJ auditorium, in Faro, with the screening of the film “And now, where are we going?”, by Nadine Labaki.

In October, the Cineclube's collaboration with the Jazz Arade 2012 festival will continue, which began this week with the screening of the film «Bird – The end of a dream», by Clint Eastwood and will end with the screening of «Round Midnight», by Bertrand Tavernier, at the Silves Islamic and Mediterranean Culture House.

October is also a month that the Cineclube returns to the university, to promote the seventh art. The Lux Festival – Prizewinners of European Cinema begins on October 2, with the film «From the other side», by Fatih Akim and continues with the works «The silence of Lorna», by Jean Pierre/Luc Dardenne (October 4), «Welcome – Welcome», by Phillipe Lloret (11th), “A Estrangeira”, by Feo Alagad (18th) and “As Neves do Kilimanjaro”, by Robert Guédiguian (25th).
