Vila Real de Santo António once again celebrates the feast in honor of Our Lady of the Encarnation, between the 29th of August and the 2nd of September.
This year, the festivities include a poster with entertainment, concerts and gastronomy, in an enclosure installed in the VRSA marginal area, in front of the captaincy.
The program starts on Wednesday, the 29th, with the opening of the restaurant area, which will remain open daily (between 18:00 pm and 02:00 am) until Sunday, September 2, where concerts will also take place, with free entry .
The musical poster kicks off with the «Allmariados», on the 29th of August. The next day, the animation is in charge of «Zé Aníbal» (30 August), while on the 31st it is the «Duo Reflexo» that moves the night.
On the 1st of September, the night is animated by «Ivete Mangalho e Rolinhas», while on the 2nd of September the program closes with the sound of «Vide Versus». All concerts start at 22:00.
The highlight of the celebrations will be the procession, on September 2, at 18 pm, when the image of Our Lady of the Incarnation will travel through some of the main arteries of VRSA.
This year, the procession will include some innovations, namely in the procession. In addition, several associations in the municipality were invited by the parish of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação to join the event.
Parallel to the religious program, on September 1st, the II International Veterans Tournament (Football 11) will take place at Campo Francisco Gomes Socorro, between 9:30 am and 18:20 pm. The match counts on the participation of the clubs Lusitano FC, Olhanense, Ayamonte and Ourique.
On the 2nd of September, the traditional “pau de suet” challenge is scheduled, at 10:30 am, while at 11:30 am there will be another rowing boat race on the Guadiana River.
On this last day, the program closes with a grandiose firework, at midnight, on Avenida da República.
