Portimonense drew this afternoon to a ball with Penafiel, away from home, and was left out of the League Cup, in the first group stage. Alvinegra was losing, got the tie, but was not able to complete the turnaround in the marker, which would guarantee the passage to the next stage, since Leixões did not beat Feirense in the other match of group C.
The first goal of the game was scored in the 15th minute by Ferreira, for Penafiel. However, in the 36th minute, Rúben Fernandes, who had also scored against Feirense in the second round, tied the match.
Until the end of the game, despite the good news coming from Matosinhos, with Leixões failing to outperform Feirense (draw to zero), Portimonense failed to score the second goal and stayed by the way in the League Cup
