This afternoon Ana Cabecinha managed to complete the 20-kilometer race in 9th place. A performance that has greater significance considering that in this event, held as part of the London Olympic Games, a new world record was set by the winner of the competition, Russian Elena Lashmanova.

The athlete from Clube Oriental do Pechão was once again among the ten fastest marchers in the world, in one of the Olympics, a feat that she had already achieved in Beijing, where she got eighth place. Becoming among the top ten was, moreover, the goal assumed and fulfilled by the Algarve athlete.

Of the Portuguese in the competition, Ana cabecinha was the fastest. Inês Henriques and Vera Santos also finished the race, in 15th and 49th position, respectively.
