The 2nd edition of the Design & Ofícios Project returns to the former Lagar de Azeite, at Parque Roberto Nobre, in São Brás de Alportel, between July 6th and 8th, for another happy meeting between artisans and creatives, at the Creative Residence.
For an entire weekend, the Municipal Carpentry Workshop prepares to welcome artisans and designers in a meeting between two parallel worlds that need bridges to reach the future.
Resulting from a partnership between the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and the Southern Designers Association, the 2nd edition of this project aims to promote the design of original objects, using regional handcrafted materials and techniques, such as the palm contract , cork, clay, fabric and wood, while fostering sustainability and the cultural and economic development of the region.
With an intergenerational and transversal character, the Creative Residence is the stage for masters who preserve the memory of ancestral arts and young creative people, artists, designers, or simply curious people who challenge to give new forms and uses to traditional materials.
An enriching experience that aims, over three days, to develop the critical capacity, initiative, innovation and entrepreneurship of all participants, in a live display of cultural production.
In this year's edition, the Creative Residency begins on Friday, 6th, with the reception and integration of participants, followed by Saturday and Sunday 7th and 8th, two days of intense work to analyze and execute the projects. presented by the creatives, whose prototypes should be finished on the 8th, Sunday, at 19pm.
During the two days of creative residency, from Saturday to Sunday, in addition to appreciating the workshop works, visitors can also take home some of the artisans' works that will be exhibited at a craft show.
A bridge between the Past and the Future, between crafts and artistic creation, which gains new breath in this Creative Residence, in São Brás de Alportel.
