Loulé City Council will present the environmental and tourist campaign “Loulé, the Summer is Gold on Blue”, on Tuesday, July 17th, at 19 pm, in support of Loulé Velho Beach, in Quarteira.
The objective is to make known the beaches of the Municipality, which in this bathing season were awarded the Blue Flag, Gold Quality Flag and Accessible Beaches, underlining the tourist importance of a Municipality that, for the first time, has the entirety of its coastline distinguished with the highest awards for environmental quality.
Also within the scope of this campaign, several environmental education initiatives are planned for these beaches throughout the summer, which will have their main nucleus in the Centro Azul de Quarteira.
In 2012, the beaches of Almargem, Forte Novo, Vilamoura, Quarteira, Loulé Velho, Vale do Lobo, Garrão Poente, Garrão Nascente, Ancão and Quinta do Lago, as well as the Vilamoura Marina, will fly the Blue Flag. The 2012 Gold Quality Flag was awarded to the beaches of Quarteira, Garrão Poente, Garrão Nascente, Ancão and Quinta do Lago.
The beaches of Vilamoura, Quarteira, Forte Novo, Loulé Velho, Vale do Lobo and Garrão were distinguished as accessible beaches, as they present privileged conditions of accessibility and mobility for everyone, including the possibility of assisted bathing.
