The Algarve's Rodrigo Serafim (BTT Loulé/BPI) and Ana Silvestre (Clube Xelb), in cadets, won the XCO Marietel Cup of Portugal, played this Sunday, in Torres Vedras. In veterans, Teresa Fernandes (Clube Xelb) showed with a triumph in Torres Vedras the reason why she won the trophy.

But the highlight was, of course, for the elite category. Mário Costa (ASC/Biek Zome) and Lucia Vazquez (Candibyke/Interdesign/Metal Trigueira) were yesterday winners of the XCO Marietel Portugal Cup, in the elite category, after being disputed in Torres Vedras, the sixth and final competition scoring for this trophy.

While Lucia Vasquez sealed the overall triumph with victory at the Cucos track, Mário Costa, winner of the Cucos in 2011, did not go beyond fourth in the elite men's race, dominated by national champion David Rosa, who won alone. , leaving second-placed Davide Machado (Firstbike Focus Team) at 3m24s.

The third was José Melitão (BTT Seia), at 3m59s. Mário Costa spent 5m16s more than Rosa, but savored, for the second year in a row, the victory in the Marietel Portugal Cup.

The women's sector witnessed Lucia Vasquez's triumphant ride, which left Estonian Maaris Meier (Somamaratons), in second place, at 4m45s. Joana Barbosa (CDC Navais-Póvoa de Varzim) closed the podium of the day, with the same time as Meier.

Diogo Figueiredo (JUM Marinhas-Sanitop-KTM) won this Sunday's junior race, but the Portuguese Cup was won by the national champion in this category, Gonçalo Amado (Saertex Portugal / Lavarinhas Bicycles), third in Torres Vedras.

Ana Tomás (BTT Seia), imposed herself among the juniors, both in the race and in general.

Carlos Gomes (Xyami/Fagor/Nova Vida) snatched the Cup in veterans A, but had to settle for second place in the last stage, won by Marco Sousa (Benebike/KTM/CRP). The victory of António Sousa (Candibyke/Interdesign/Metal Trigueira) in the B+C veterans race did not prevent Rui Lavarinhas (Saertex Portugal/ Bicycles Lavarinhas) from being crowned the winner of the Portuguese Cup.

Candibyke/Interdesign/Metal Trigueira was the best team on the Cucos track, but Saertex Portugal/Bicycles Lavarinhas took to Viana do Castelo the trophy that certifies the Viennese collective as the most consistent throughout the season.
