The harvesting and marketing of all bivalves was banned between Vilamoura and Vila Real de Santo António, covering the Ria Formosa, announced today the Maritime Zone of the South.
The temporary ban was decreed based on analyzes by IPIMAR, which indicate the presence of toxins in bivalves, which can cause diarrhea and even amnesia.
