António Pina was re-elected today as president of the Political Commission of the PS in Olhão after beating his opponent Custódio Moreno at the ballot box with a comfortable advantage. The vice president of the Chamber of Olhão won more than 70 percent of the vote in what is the Algarve's socialist council with the most militants.

António Miguel Pina got 195 votes, against the 80 obtained by Custódio Moreno. The number of voters was 274, in a total universe of 330 militants registered on the lists.

The re-elected leader of the socialists from Olhão assumed from the beginning that he intends to be the candidate for the Chamber of Olhão for the PS in the next municipal councils, since the current president of the municipality Francisco Leal cannot re-candidate for having already reached the maximum limit of consecutive terms.

The now more than likely candidate for the presidency of the Chamber of Olhão by PS in 2013 turned out to be the only one, among all the other candidates who did not head a single list, to clearly stand out from his opponent. In Portimão, Lagoa and Castro Marim the winners had slim advantages, which will balance the members of each of the currents in dispute in the Socialist Political Commissions of these councils.
