The 5.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred today, May 29, at 07:00 UTC (08:00 am in mainland Portugal), in the northern region of Italy, about 20 km northeast of Modena, was detected in the seismic network stations national.

This earthquake, according to the assessment of the USGS, must have been strongly felt in the epicentral area, and it is still expected that it caused damage in the area close to the epicenter.

According to the focal mechanism, already calculated by the USGS, the earthquake had its origin in an inverse fault with an east-west orientation.

This earthquake was detected at the seismic network stations in Portugal, with the first waves of the earthquake being recorded at 08:03:14 (local time) at the Bragança seismic station [in the image: examples of records at the stations in Bragança, Moncorvo, Gavieira , Ravines, Cowboys].
