After beating Salgueiros on Saturday in the 1st Play-off game of the Men's 1st Division Water Polo Senior National Championship, the Portinado team returned this Sunday, in Campanhã, to beat Salgueiros, in the second game of the final, by the same result (10-8).

The team from Portimão had the advantage since the first half and put the final result at 2-0, in a competition played in the best of five games.

The 3rd game will be played on Saturday, the 12th, at 15:30, in Loulé, and if Portinado wins, it will win the third consecutive title of national champion, but this time in the Algarve.

After last season, the continuity of Portinado's senior team was in doubt, the Algarve players and their coach Rui Moreira «this weekend gave an unmistakable proof of their commitment and willingness to put water polo once again. Algarve at the highest level in Portugal», highlights the formation of Portimão on its website.

«Despite the departure of some major players last season and all the constraints in terms of training conditions and financial level, the players did not lower their arms and worked throughout the season in a determined and committed way to bring another National title for the Algarve», adds Portinado.

The next game, which will take place in Loulé due to the regulatory imposition that requires the final phase to be held in an Olympic pool, could be decisive for the conquest of the 3rd consecutive national title.

Portinado therefore appeals to all its supporters to appear in force at the municipal swimming pools in Loulé next Saturday (15:30) to support the players.
