Based on the text “Self-accusation” by Peter Handke, choreographer Filipe Moreira created !LISTEN!, a piece in monologue, with no indication of time, space, characters or a common thread. The show, which includes Portuguese sign language, will be presented on Saturday, June 2, at 22 pm, at the Laboratory of Creative Activities (formerly Cadeia de Lagos).

Two bodies, interpreted by Filipe Moreira and Nelson Rodrigues, move in a private and abstract space, communicating, acting and reacting. Listening between these two bodies and the audience is essential.

“Here communication and listening are fundamental and we are not simply referring to listening, but above all listening to the other, to our surroundings and to the movement”, explain the promoters of the show.

Tickets for the show cost 6 euros.

LAC – Creative Activities Laboratory is a non-profit cultural association formed in 1995 and headquartered in the Old Chain of Lagos.

The building designed by Cottinelli Telmo and whose foundations are built on an old convent, is a place with history that forms an integral part of the city.

Built with other goals, it currently reveals an interesting dichotomy between prison/reclusion VS space of creativity/freedom. By becoming a space for creation, it reconverted the molds of its existence, now the cells are a studio space for artists and their use and work contributes to the revitalization of the building, giving it a new history.

The association is an artistic residency space with 13 years of existence, whose priority is to develop and expand the PRALAC - Artist Residency Program in LAC, with the main objective of energizing and promoting artistic creation in the region and especially in the Southwest Algarve. .
