Albufeira will participate in the action “Human Tide” which, on the morning of May 12, brings activities to Praia dos Pescadores that warn of threats to the coast (maritime accidents, marine pollution, climate change, rising sea levels, natural disasters and overexploitation of ocean resources).
Between 9:00 am and 13:00 pm, the municipality, children and youth from eco-schools, scouts and the general population will be invited to participate in awareness-raising actions about waste, biodiversity, solar radiation, safety, among others.
Organized by ABAE – Blue Flag Association of Europe, the “Human Tide” is intended to be a reminder of the importance of changing behavior in these coastal areas, whose usufruct should be carried out in a more sustainable way.
The initiative ends with a symbolic moment, in which all participants – both on land and at sea – join hands for a cause: the protection of the coast.
