For the fourth consecutive year, the Municipality of Silves will organize the event of a sporting and solidarity nature, Silves Tour. This initiative will take place in Silves on May 6th, at 9:30 am.
As usual, the Silves Tour intends to promote fundraising for non-profit institutions and entities, in order to contribute to the improvement of its functioning and its provision of services to the community.
In this edition of the Silves Tour, the amount raised through registration for the event is destined to Refúgio Aboim Ascensão, so all those who wish to participate in the activity can register in the Municipal Swimming Pools of Silves, Parish Councils of Algoz, Armação de Pêra and SB Messines or by sending the registration form (available on the CMS portal) to the address [email protected]. Registration costs 5 euros and includes a t-shirt and personal accident insurance.
The Silves Tour 2012 consists of two types of participation, translated into a walking tour with two urban routes, 4 km and 9 km; and a bike ride that will depart from the localities of SB Messines, Armação de Pêra, Algoz and Silves, with routes that vary between 17 and 20 km.
It is also intended to seize the occasion and launch a campaign to collect foodstuffs for delivery to institutions dedicated to distributing food to the most needy families.
This campaign will run from April 30th to May 4th, in all schools in the municipality, and until May 6th in the Municipal Swimming Pools of Silves.
The holding of the Silves Tour 2012 has, so far, with the adhesion, participation and support of various entities, public and private, such as the IPDJ – Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, National March and Run program, Água Serra da Estrela, Continente, RestXelb – pool bar, AR Publicidade, Paulo Publicidade, Publiradio, My Dinamic, Silves School Group, SB Messines School Group, Silves Secondary School, Azogla, Piaget Institute, AE Silves Student Association , Holiday Inn, Colina Hotels & Resorts, Frutas Martinho, Frutas Mourinho, Francisco Vieira e Filhos, Lda – Laranjas do Algarve, LARA – Laranja do Algarve, SA, Columbophile Society of SB Messines, Parish Councils of Algoz, of Armação de Pêra , from Pêra and SB Messines, Portuguese Red Cross, GNR from Silves, Volunteer Firefighters from Silves, Voluntary Firefighters from SB Messines, Rádio Algarve FM and Sul Informação.
