Alte Cultural Week once again celebrates the traditions of the interior of the Algarve

The XVIII Cultural Week of Alte runs until May 1st, an event that marks the tradition within the Municipality of Loulé, with a vast program of cultural, sporting and recreational entertainment, with special emphasis on the ethnographic recreation of the traditional ceremony of Marriage to Boda.

Today, on the 25th of April, at the Casa do Povo in Alte, at 21 pm, the Algarviados group presents a show of Portuguese popular music.

“Cultural Program in Rural Space” is the theme of the debate scheduled for the 26th, at 21:30 pm, at the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Center.

On Friday, the 27th, at 21:30 pm, at the Pólo Museológico, the exhibition “Ciclo do Bão” is inaugurated, with rag dolls. The Miralumim Theater group, created within the scope of the Bem-me-quer Project, takes to the stage with the play “Teatro do Pão”, at 21 pm.

On the 28th, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, the naturopath João Beles will be at the Museological Center to guide the Workshop on medicinal plants, where he will discuss their uses, followed by a walk through the countryside.

At 16 pm, Luísa Martins, Local History researcher, presents the lecture “O Pão de Cada Dia” (Loulé County, 00th and XNUMXth centuries), followed by the presentation of the film/documentary “Ciclo do Bão”, produced at the village of Montes Novos.

At night, the Bateopé group promotes a concert/ball at Fonte Pequena, at 21:30 pm.

For the 29th, the main focus will be on sport and on the holding of another edition of the Alte Mountain Bike Tour/Marathon. The meeting is scheduled for Fonte Pequena, at 10:00 am and, in addition to the Marathon (83 km), Half-Marathon (48km), Classic Tour (25km) and Family Tour (16km), the organization also proposes a pedestrian tour and tour on urban bicycles.

The Regional Products Market, at Fonte Pequena, and a fado night with Inês Graça and Luís Manhita, at Casa do Povo, at 21 pm, are the other proposals for this day.

On the eve of the holiday, the Museological Pole receives a morning of children's entertainment and an intercultural afternoon, with mini classes in several languages, dance, cultural bingo, among others. At night, at Casa do Povo, Grupo Coral de Ourique promotes a show of Alentejo singing, starting at 21:30 pm.

 

The Cultural Week of Alte culminates with the traditional Folklore Festival and the traditional wedding ceremony on May 1, next to Fonte Pequena, which attracts countless visitors to the village. This year, the Folklore Group of the Casa do Povo de Alte, the Folklore Group “As Trigueirinhas do Pisão” (Vila Nova de Gaia), the Folklore Group of the Soutos da Caranguejeira de Leiria and the Folklore Group of the Vale de Santarém are taking part in this event.
