This Saturday, the Algarve's Samuel Caldeira (Carmim-Prio-Tavira) won the Clássica da Primavera, the first competition of the Liberty Seguros Elite and Under-23 Cup in Portugal, held in Póvoa de Varzim.

The Tavira training runner completed the 131 kilometers of the course in 3h07m39s, at an average of 41,886km/h. Bruno Saraiva (Louletano / Dunas Douradas) was the second placed, while the winner of the Cup in 2011, Sergio Ribeiro (Efapel / Glassdrive) closed the podium.

Rafael Silva (Liberty Seguros/Feira/Specialized) was ranked fourth and best under-23, which earned him the trophy leadership in the youngest category.

Efapel/Glassdrive was the best team in the race in Poveira. The under-23 João Matias (ASC/KTM/Vitória) prevailed in the mobile goals, while Bruno Silva (LA-Antarte) was the best in the sum of the six climbs to Monte São Félix, crowning himself the best climber.

The second event that scores for the Elite and Under-23 Liberty Seguros Portugal Cup is the Bruno Neves Memorial, which will take place in Nogueira do Cravo, on the 13th of May.
