Rugby Festival Week 2012 took place from March 31st to April 4th, in Vilamoura, in an initiative of the Browns Sports & Leisure Club sports centre.

The event featured two exciting Rugby matches between the British Army RU team, current world champion of army teams, the team of GD Direito, current national champion, and the British team Newcastle Falcons, playing in the AVIVA Premiership Rugby.

In the first game that pitted the teams of GD Right and British Army UK. The British imposed their game, achieving a victory by 59-14 against a Portuguese team that took advantage of this game to prepare their athletes for the final phase of the national championship and provide all of them with the unique experience of facing a top team in the sport .

The second game between Newcastle Falcons and British Army UK ended with a 31-point draw, demonstrating the high competitive level of both teams.

Hundreds of fans or mere curious of the sport joined this great Rugby event in the Algarve, which culminated in a live music show, where, in a festive atmosphere, fans and athletes could socialize and discuss the main aspects of the game .

This initiative thus continues Browns Sports & Leisure Club's policy of promoting and publicizing the sport in the Algarve region, with the aim of attracting new fans and practitioners to an underdeveloped sport in the south of the country, providing everyone with direct contact with elite players.
