Olhão will host this year the regional test of the National Reading Competition, promoted by the General Directorate of Books and Libraries and by the National Reading Plan and organized by the Municipal Library of Olhão, for students in the 3rd cycle and secondary. The initiative is scheduled for April 18, at 13 pm, at the Municipal Auditorium.
Aiming to encourage the practice of reading among students of the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education, the competition aims to assess the reading of literary works by students of these levels of education. Each year, one Municipal Library is selected per district, to organize the event locally, with Olhão being chosen in 2012, in the Algarve.
